Mangaluru June 16, 2016: President of MCC Health Committee Kavitha Sanil warned the traders to renew the license on or before June 30th.
Addressing to the press at MCC today June 16 Thursday she said that, overall 29,100 trades have gained license under the Mangaluru City Corporation limits, but this year only 19,561 have renewed the license which means still 8,799 traders are yet to renew their license. So far we are able to collect 1.88 crores but still 1.22 crores yet to be collected, she added.
She said that, we have formed a squad along with revenue and health department to deal such cases, the traders need to renew their license before June 30th, if not strict action will be taken against them, she warned.
She also said that precautionary measures need to be taken to prevent from mosquito-borne diseases. Hot water should be provided in the hotels, Lids of over head water tanks need to be closed to prevent from breeding mosquitoes. If anyone suffering from fever blood test need to be done, blood test for malaria will be done for free in government hospitals.
She further said that, government has banned plastic bags since March 11th but still some street vendors, shop keepers use plastic bags. Strict action will be taken against them with penalty, in case of repeated violation trade licence will be cancelled. MCC will distribute over 15,000 cotton carry bags in coming days, said Kavitha Sanil.
Deputy Commissioner of MCC Gokuldas Nayak, Shashidhar Hegde, Members of the Committee Premanand Shetty, Rajesh and others were present.
