Renaming Light House Hill Road controversy on HC order

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, Apr 12, 2018: The Vijaya Bank Workers’ Organisation (VBWO) members have stated that St Aloysius College authorities are misleading the public on the High Court order to rename the stretch between Catholic Club and Ambedkar Circle.

Light House.

The statement comes eight days after the St Aloysius College Rector and Principal issued a press release stating that the VBWO is misleading the public on the order.

Addressing media,  Bunts Welfare Trust Organising Secretary Rajgopal Rai said that VBWO has already submitted a memorandum to the mayor, district administration, town planning section and police commissioner on renaming of the Light House Hill Road as per the interim order of the High Court.

Address change :  It was  alleged that the St Aloysius College has changed the address on their hoardings to St Aloysius College Road, which he claimed is contempt of court. The road needs to be renamed as Mulki Sundararama Shetty Road.

Rajgopal Rai said that the MCC Commissioner had said that he would forward the memorandum on renaming the road for legal cell and would take a call after getting opinion from the cell.
