Mangaluru, Jan 10, 2020: A police team led by Panambur Sub-Division ACP Belliappa has  busted a racket of red sanders smuggling  from Andhra Pradesh to Thailand with the arrest of five persons.  Meanwhile, the prime accused  Pradeep of Bengaluru    is absconding and police have launched a search for him.


 Two of those arrested are Tabreez and Lohith of Ullal. Police have seized four ton red sanders worth Rs 2 crore from them.

The red sanders was stored at a godown in Baikampady after transporting it from Andhra Pradesh in a container truck. All the five arrested have been accused of abetting smuggling.

Further investigations are underway.
