Rationalist Narendra Nayak lodges complaint on life threat

Mangaluru, May 10, 2016: It is reported that Prof. Narendra Nayak, President of Federation of Indian Rationalists Association on May 9, Monday lodged a complaint with the Urwa Police about a threat to his life.

In his complaint, Prof Nayak, who has been leading a movement seeking the arrest of those involved in the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga, said that he was threatened by Shashank Shenoy during a chat session on Facebook on May 9,  Monday afternoon.

The person, who is said to be a follower of Kashi Mutt, asked Prof  Nayak not to speak against Kashi Mutt seer Samyamindra Tirtha and the Venkataramana Temple.


Questioning Prof Nayak,  Shashank Shenoy is said to have held out a threat to his life.  In his complaint, he also made a mention of the derogatory comments by Goud Saraswat community members on his Facebook account for sharing a report of a local newspaper related to the investigation of Vinayak Baliga’s murder.

The community members are said to have threatened Prof Nayak saying that he would be thrown out of the Goud Saraswat community.  The Urwa Police have registered his complaint and investigation is in progress.
