Rare Liver Cancer Surgery done at K.S. Hegde Hospital

Mangaluru, Dec 05, 2014: A rare liver cancer surgery was done by a team of doctors at K.S Hegde hospital, Deralakatte on December 5, 2014. Mrs. Jayamma (name changed) 77 years old lady admitted to K.S. Hegde Hospital, Deralakatte, Mangalore on 6th September 2014 with pain in abdomen and abdominal lump of 2 months duration. After evaluation, she was diagnosed to have Hepatocellaler carcinoma (Liver cancer).

She underwent critical surgery of left hepatactomy of liver ( resection of 3 segments of liver on left side) on 2nd October 2014 under the operating team of doctors, Dr. Vishwanath (Onco Surgeon), Dr. Preetham Rai, Dr. Rohan Shetty and Dr. Shravan.

Anesthesia was given by Dr. Murali, Dr. Shripad and Dr. Sapna, Post Operative pain Management & Intensive care given by Dr. Naresh Rai, Dr. Rashmi, Dr. Nikhil. Patient recovered well during the post operative period and was discharged through Vajpayee Arogyashree Scheme at free of cost (without payment) on 14th October 2014.
