Mangalore, Oct 19, 2014: Various parts of Dakshina Kannada district experienced heavy showers accompanied by lightning and thunder on Saturday night and Sunday evening.
On saturday night it was almost like a fireworks show ahead of Diwali right from 7 pm to 9 pm when the city witnessed heavy lightning and thunder. There have been reports of rains, lightning and thunder even from Puttur, Subrahmanya, Sullia, Kadaba and Mulki where too power supply was affected.
There were reports of lightning strike on a Madrasa at Kanthadka in Vittla village on Saturday night and sources said that at least eight persons including seven Madrasa students wounded.
