RTI activist murder: Prosecutor to present evidence against bail today

Mangaluru, Apr 26, 2016: The anticipatory bail hearing of Naresh Shenoy, wanted by Mangaluru city police in connection with the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Pandurang Baliga, continued in the second additional district and sessions court here yesterday Apr 25, Monday.

Naresh Shenoy ... Shambu Sharma, lawyer for Naresh Shenoy completed his arguments on the bail plea. Public prosecutor Shekar Shetty is expected to present the evidence and put forth his arguments against the bail plea today Apr 26, Tuesday.

Judge Sarvodaya Shettigar, the second additional district and session’s court judge, heard the anticipatory bail arguments put forth by Shambu Sharma. In a related development, a lawyer appointed by the parents of the deceased has filed an application under Criminal Procedure Code to assist the public prosecutor. Shekar Shetty said the lawyer can assist him by way of written submission. "Since he represents the aggrieved parents, he will communicate their view points through me," he said.
