Puttur, Oct 20, 2016 : Vaishnav Hegde, a member of the Puttur Aquatic Club has clinched gold in the 50 meter breast stroke at the South Asian Aquatic Championship held at Colombo on October 19, Wednesday. He clocked 29.31 to emerge the winner. The second place also went to an Indian swimmer Jashandeep Singh.
In the 70th Glenmark National Swimming Championship held at Ranchi last week, Vaishnav had won the silver. Vaishnav is coached by Vasanth Kumar, Partha Varanasi and Niroop G R in swimming. He also has the credit of being the youngest swimmer with third highest FINA points in India.
