Puttur, Oct 8, 2015 : Preliminary investgiation into the case of shoot-out reported at the Rajadhani Jewellers in the town on October 6, evening has revealed the hands of the notorious rowdy Kali Yogish gang behind the incident.
As already reported two bike bound men had fired at the jewellery showroom owned by Tanaaz and located at CPC Plaza, while passing that way.
Sources said a person who introduced himself to be Kali Yogish had telephoned a local news channel claiming responsibility for the incident. He is learnt to have told that it were his men who fired at the jewlelery showroom. This development has further substantiated the doubts of the Police Department.
According to sources, the caller had told the chanel that his men had demanded hafta from the jewellery owner and that the latter had stopped attending the calls forcing him to ask his men to fire at the jewellery store to warn the owner to heed to the demand.
The jewellery store owner hailing from Sangli in his complaint has alleged that the assailants had fired at his shop with an intention of killing him or his staff owing to some enmity. However, he has not mentoned anything about the so called threat calls which he had received from the underworld don. The complainant has also stated that he has KK Hamza, Abdul Razak, KK Naser and Abdul Shukoor of Wayanad as his business partners and that he has no dispute with them.
Police who are investigating this case from different angles are also trying to find out if this was the handiwork of any rival businessmen.
DySP Bhasker Rai, Puttur ASI Abdul Khader and other police officials have visited the jewellery store for investgiation.
Presently probe is undeway by SP Dr Sharanappa led police team.
