Puttur MLA’s niece dies in tragic mishap in father’s factory at Chennai

Puttur, May 13, 2015 : In a tragic incident, Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty’s 22 year old niece lost her life when she accidentally fell into a metal cutting machine after her churidar shawl got stuck in it on May 12, Tuesday morning at Chennai. The mishap took place in the factory of the father of the deceased young lady.

Nireeksha Adya... The deceased is Nireeksha Adyantaya, an engineering graduate and daughter Savitha and Gopalkrishna Adyantaya, the younger brother of the MLA. Gopalkrishna hails from Kuttarpadavu near Konaje. Nireeksha who worked in Chennai till recently had quit her job to do her MBA.

The post-mortem was conducted in Chennai on Tuesday and the mortal remains are being brought to Maruvantila in Perabe, the parental home of Nireeksha’s mother where the last rites will be performed today. The freak accident took place just a week after the family of Nireeksha had visited its home town and returned to Chennai.
