Puttur, Nov 20, 2019: The Dakshina Kannada Police have succeeded in arresting  the accused  in the double murder case reported  from Puttur Kuriya in Puttur Rural Police station limits. The  accused Karim Khan (29)  had  entered the  house with the intention of committing theft and upon realising that the occupants of the house recognised him, had hacked them to death with the help of a sickle he found in the kitchen.



It has been gathered that at around 11 pm on November 18, he had  entered the house through the  small opening in between the wall and the roof tiles. However, the occapants of the house woke up. As he was an acquaintance and  fearing  he would be caught and also  as he had a enmity with Koggu Saheb over a financial dispute, he picked up a sickle and hacked Koggu Saheb (70) and his grand daughter Samiya Banu (16) and seriously injured Koggu Saheb’s wife Khatijabi (65) before fleeing with gold weighing 30 grams and a cash of Rs 6000.

Based on a tip off the police zeroed in on him on November 19 evening.  It is learnt, even he had suffered injuries and is being treated for the same.
