Puttur: Doctor bride disappears on wedding day

Puttur, Dec 30, 2014: A bride who was supposed to tie the nuptial knot on December 28 was found missing from her house on her wedding day at Kalige in Bilinele village near Kadaba.

sulia krapa The missing bride is Dr Kripa, daughter of Nityananda Gowda. She was to tie knot to a doctor groom from Panja on Sunday at the Panchalingeshwara Temple in Panja.

Even a Mehendi function was held the previous night. However, the bride was missing the next morning to the dismay of her family members. After a futile search for her the wedding was cancelled and the food prepared for the wedding was distributed to students of different schools of the village

Sources said the bride was in love with another doctor, a former colleague in Bengaluru and the suspicion is that she might have eloped with him.

The bride’s father has lodged a missing complaint while the groom’s family too has lodged a police complaint seeking reimbursement of expenses towards marriage.
