Puttur Congress leader set to float Hindu outfit

Puttur, Jan 5, 2014: Puttur Block Congress President Kavu Hemanath Shetty who is also the President of Kavu Panchalingeshwara Temple is all set to float a Hindu outfit. Named Bharatiya Hindu Parishad, the new entity is believed to be aimed at removing the misconception that the  Congress did not completely favour the Hindus and that it aimed at only appeasing the minority communities.

However, Shetty asserts that his new organisation has no intention of countering any Hindu organisation including the VHP but wants to prove that the Congress party treated all communities equally. He also makes it a point that the new organisation has got nothing to do with the Congress, but is being floated at his own will.

Targetting the VHP, he argued that it organised Samajotsavs only when elections are nearing and moreover only to ‘provoke religious sentiments.’ However, the new outfit would work for the betterment of Hindu community and there will be no politics of any sort, he said.

Shetty also stated that the Bharatiya Hindu Parishad plans to open its units in all taluks of Dakshina Kannada.
