Puttur: Bengaluru boy dies as vehicle carrying pilgrims overturns

Puttur accidentPuttur, Dec 20, 2015: An eleven year old boy from  Bengaluru lost his life while many others sustained injuries when a Tempo Traveller carrying pilgrims towards Dharmasthala overturned at Korameru near Ichlampady on December 20, Sunday.

The deceased boy is Deepak. He was the son of Rajajinagar residents Latha and Babu. A group of 14  were on a pilgrim tour to Dharmasthala  when the driver lost control over the vehicle resulting in the mishap.

As many as ten others were injured in the accident. Some of the injured namely Shakuntala (55), Suresh (32), driver of the vehicle, Nagamma (65) and Varalakshmi (30) have been admitted to a private hospital in  Puttur, while others including the  mother of the deceased boy were shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

A  case has been registered by Puttur Traffic Police.
