Udupi, Apr 18, 2017: Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has said that Yettinahole Project would not adversely affect Dakshina Kannada and that only the water which would otherwise join the sea would be lifted for 100 days in a year. He also said as much as 1200 to 1300 TMC water joins the sea every year.
Speaking to reporters at Circuit House at Bannanje, Gowda said there was a need to sensitize the people on the project by the ministers, elected representatives and officials.
On the defeat of BJP in the Nanjanagud and Gundlupete bye polls, Gowda said the defeat has in no way affected the prestige of the party and will also not affect its future prospects.
Referring to the Kambala Bill, Gowda who is also the former chief minister said he would meet the President and try to secure his nod for the Bill which has already been reviewed by the Departments of Home, Environment, Law and Culture.
District BJP Chief Mattar Ratnakar Hegde and others were present.
