Mangaluru, Oct 12, 2020: Various like-minded organisations as well as representatives of different political parties launched a sit-in protest in front of the office of Mangaluru South MLA at the MCC building at Lalbagh on October 12, Monday as part of the "Control Private Hospitals, Save Government Hospital" movement.
Addressing the protestors, DYFI State President Muneer Katipalla said it was indeed sad to note that the district which had eight private medical colleges does not have even one government medical college.
He alleged that the attitude of the private hospitals has hit hard the people during the times of Covid. He said the fight for a government medical college in the district would also be organised at the Hobali level in an apolitical way.
Senior advocate and social activist Dinesh Hegde Ulepady, DSS leader Devadas, Vasanth Achari, Yashwanth Maroli, Sunil Kumar Bajal and many others participated in the protest.
