Udupi, Dec 28, 2015 :   Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje has  accused the state government of complete failure in providing a good administration in the past one and a half years.

Speaking to reporters here on December 28,  Monday, Shobha exuded confidence of the victory of BJP candidate Kota Srinivas Poojary in the MLC election.

Claiming that there was an anti-Congress wave across the  state, Shobha also stated that  the BJP would also emerge victorious in the upcoming Zilla and Taluk Panchayat elections. She further claimed that there was a pro-BJP wave in Udupi.

Continuing to lash out at the state government, she alleged that the government had failed to utilise the Rs  1540 crore funds sanctioned by the government to tackle the drought situation.  Attributing the failure to the Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister, she said no drought relief works were undertaken despite release of funds to the  State Disaster Response Fund and National Disaster Response Fund.

Shobha said during her visit to  Raichur and Koppala she found that the government  had not set aside funds to tackle the acute drinking water shortage facing the region.

Despite the Union Government releasing funds for undertaking dredging at Malpe and Kodi Kanyana, no measure has been taken to  invite tenders, she alleged.

On the complaints that toll was collected on NH 66 before the completion of the work, Shobha said she has requested Union Transport Minister to suspend  toll collection till December next year.

Refuting the allegations of Udupi District in-charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake that she  was  convening only press meets but not undertaking any developmental work, Shobha said she regularly visited both Udupi and Chikkamagaluru and do not rest even a day as she aspires to see BJP rise to power in the state again.

Sharada Bijoor of Congress who is also a former ZP Vice President, joined the BJP on the occasion.

TIngale Vikramarjuna Hegde, Udupi District BJP President and Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLC were also present at the press meet.
