Belthangady, Oct 3, 2016 : Prithvish K, a final year Electronics student of SDM Engineering College, Ujire has on October 2, Sunday entered the Guinness Book of World Records by creating separate pictures on two sides of a Rubik’s cube by using as many as 4,500 cubes. At a ceremony held at the Indraprastha Auditorium at Ujire he created Charlie Chaplin and Mr. Bean pictures on two sides of the Rubik’s Cube. A total of 20 students joined hands with Prithvish in helping him set the Guinness Record.
Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala who visited the venue, appreciated the great efforts of Prithvish. The cubes which are used to create the Guinness Record will be distributed to school children as solving Rubik’s Cube puzzles go a long way in improving the concentration power of the students, he said.
The world record winning feat took almost five hours for the team of students led by Prithvish. The team used a total of 4,500 cubes of 5.7 cm thickness. By noon, they had created pictures measuring 4.33 meters in height and 3.46 meters in width, measuring in total 14.981 square meters.
Engineer Shivaprasad Ajila, Punjalakatte College Principal Prof. Ganapathi Bhat Kulamarva and Vivek Prasad Maada were the witnesses to this record feat.
Prithvish is the son of Shyama Prasad and Prasanna couple from Cherkady in Brahmavar. He holds India Book of Records and Unique World Record to his credit.
