Prime accused in Siddantha Mandir burglary case gets bail

Moodbidri, Oct 26, 2014: The District Sessions Court has on October 25, Saturday granted bail to Santosh Das alias Ghanashyam, the prime accused in the Siddantha Darshan Mandir burglary case.

The  burglary took place on the night of July 6 last year wherein  antique idols worth several thousands of crores of rupees were stolen. Santosh Das’s wife  Deepthi and his father-in-law Digambar Mohanty were arrested from Odisha almost three weeks after the burglary. Santosh Das was arrested later based on their revelations. He faced as many as 23 cases and had secured bail in 15 cases earlier.Presently he has got bail  in the remaining eight cases and will be released.
