Preetam and Prithvi win Netravati Express Quiz

Mangaluru, Dec 27, 2018: Preetam Upadhya and Prithvi Monteiro from PES University, Bengaluru, emerged the winners of Netravathi Express Quiz competition for students on tourism and enterprises during the Karavali Utsav here on Wednesday.

 

 

More than 500 students participated in the event held at Town Hall while six teams were selected for the final rounds. Prajna N. Hebbar and J. Rakshith Kumr from NITK’s PU College emerged the runners-up, while Shreyas and Shardul from Lourdes Central School, Bejai, came third in the competition.

The winners, though students of PES, are natives of Mangaluru and were in the city for holidays, the organisers said.

Moreover, the organisers organised Mangala Express Quiz competition for the general public on the theme of tourism. While Rajath Shetty and Pratap Prabhu emerged the winners, Anil Shetty and Vikas Moodbidri came second and Vishwas K. Pai and Annappa Kamath third. Nandakishore and Vivek Pinto, Shilpa Pai and K.J. Srinivas as well as Neel Goradia and Clinton Baptist were the other teams who entered the final rounds of the quiz for general public.

Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner Mohammed Nazeer distributed prizes to the winners.

Inaugurating the competition in the morning, Deputy Commissioner S. Sasikanth Senthil said that the competition was aimed at boosting tourism in the district which is rich in culture, history and heritage.
