Poojary inaugurate South India level children’s Art Fest 2011

Mangalore, August 12: Shri Chakrapani Fine Arts and Educational Trust (SCFAET) organized Children’s Art Fest 2011, a South India level drawing contest at Hotel Deep Comforts on Aug 12 Friday.
B. Janardhan Poojary, the former union minister, inaugurated the event and said that this event gives children from all over South India a chance to participate in a drawing competition and interact with one another.
He also urged parents to encourage their children to participate in such competitions and teach them that developing the spirit of sport is more important than winning.
K. P. Shenoy, the chief guest, art critic, and artist said that art gives meaning to things. Stating that adults have lost the greatest gift they had as kids—the capacity for art.
A. J. Shetty, the chairman of AJ Medical College and Hospital, presided over the event.
Around 108 students from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Pondicherry, and Lakshadweep participated in the event.
An exhibition of children’s paintings was also organized.
