Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office on January 2, Saturday, he lashed out at  DVS who is presently the Union Law Minister for pretending ignorance about the Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar led delegation meeting Union Ministers on Yettinahole Project. He also accused MPs and MLAs, irrespective of party lines of not doing  anything to protect forest lands from destruction.

On MP Nalin’s statements that he would perform Kar Seva if the Yettinahole Project is implemented, Poojary hoped Nalin would keep up his words. At the same time he accused Nalin of not having the courage to speak against DVS. Both Union and State Governments are to be equally blamed for  implementing Yettinahole Project, he said.

He also challenged Moily and DVS to contest the next  elections from the district instead of from far off constituencies. Poojary further alleged that a Central Forest Committee recently visited the Yettinahole Project site keeping the public in the dark.

Also not sparing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,   Poojary said  the CM had failed to respect Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s words by not   getting in touch with him (Poojary) to discuss the Yettinahole issue.

Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Poojary said "Modi who visited 26 nations ever since he took charge as PM 20 months ago, had however no time to visit the residence of even a single farmer."

On the expulsion of his one time confidante Harikrishna Bantwal from the Congress after he contested as a rebel candidate in the MLC polls, Poojary said " He did not listen to my advice against contesting the elections."
