Politics over dead bodies not acceptable: CM in Belthangady

Mangalore Today News Network

Belthangady, Jan 7, 2018: "If the BJP has any humanity, it has to stage protests even now. Why doesn’t the BJP protest when a Muslim man loses his life ?," questioned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

He was speaking after inaugurating various development works in Belthangdi, Dakshina Kannada district, on Sunday.

His reactions came following information that Basheer, a fast food shop owner at Kottara Chowki who was brutally attacked on Wednesday night hours after the murder of Deepak Rao at Katipalla, has succumbed to injuries on Sunday morning.

"Hate politics has no end, playing politics over dead bodies is not acceptable," he said.

"Inciting of religious sentiments only harms the society and nothing else," the Chief Minister said.

The Parivatana Yatre rally at Belthangdi, began as per the chief minister’s request, after observing a minute of silence for the two departed individuals.
