Both the State and Central governments are fooling people with their promises. None of the promises made during the election time have yet been fulfilled. The political parties can fool any common man with their money power. The Central government under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi had promised to give rice for two rupees to below poverty line people but till date it has not reached the people.

During the time of election poor people of India voted for the political parties because they were taken over by the financial power of these parties. This is what made them win the elections. But the people who elected them are struggling for morsels of food, he said.

He said that ‘In the year 1971, Late Mrs Indira Gandhi made’Gharibi Hatao’ campaign, but unfortunately, the population of porr in India were increased’. In present times her own daughter-in-law is following her foot step and pulling down the people towards poverty. In earlier years people were getting rice for two rupees but presently Sonia has hiked it to three rupees and that too only 25 kgs of rice is available. It is also not sure about reaching to its actual beneficiaries. Before more than 6.52 crore ration-card holders were getting ration but now it has been restricted to 5crores and badly affected the lives of commoners. The Central governmnt must provide ration to all the cirtizen of the country without any discrimination in distribution of the ration, he urged.

H V Rai, B Madhava, CPI (M), B Sanjeeva CPI, and Vishwanatha Nayak, CPI were present.
