Speaking to presspersons after an hour-long phone-in programme at the District Police Office, he said stern action would be taken against those violating rules with regard to shrill horns and tinted glasses. Though the police had carried out such a drive previously, the problem persisted. This time, instead of imposing fines, they would seize the vehicles, Mr. Nimbargi said.

When a caller complained of nuisance caused by drunkards near the KSRTC bus stand, Mr. Nimbargi said he would direct the Hoysala police patrol to keep a vigil from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Another caller complained that a tree was on the verge of falling on the Brahmavar- Barkur Road and that the grass had grown tall on this road leading to accidents. Mr. Nimbargi said action would be taken on this issue in a week.

A caller complained that autorickshaw operators were not using the fare metres at Kallianpur- Santhekatte area and were overcharging passengers. One person said illegal stone mining was taking place at Belur village in Kota police station limits and that though a complaint had been lodged with the local Panchayat Development Officer, no action had been taken. Mr. Nimbargi assured of action in both matters.
