Police raid Mangalore jail, recover cell phone and Ganja packets

Mangalore, May 18: Assistant Commissioners of Police Puttamadayya and Ravindra K. Gadadi, conducted a raid at the Mangalore Jail on May 18, Wednesday.
The officials arrived at the jail with a team of 30 police personnel, conducted a raid, and seized a mobile phone and several packets of ganja. The police had received a tip off over the phone from an unknown person.
According to police, the mobile phones were being used by the prisoners to stay in touch with their contacts. The prisoners were frequently using mobiles which prompted the search operation, they said
Since the construction work of the jail has been pending for a long time, the convicts might have hidden several valuables, including mobile phones, before the raid commenced.
