Police arrest 2 more in connection with home stay attack

Mangalore, Aug 29, 2012 : The Mangalore police, on August 27, Monday, arrested two more men in connection with the attack on young people partying at Morning Mist Home Stay this July.

 

home 1The arrested Dinesh and Puneeth have been remanded to judicial custody. This makes the total number of people arrested in connection with the home stay attack 24.

The police are still searching for many people who are either missing or absconding.

On Tuesday, the district and sessions court rejected applications for bail filed by 17 people arrested in connection with the home stay attack.

Twenty people had filed applications for bail, but only 17 cases were heard on Tuesday and the judge rejected all 17. These applications were filed by Sharath, Taranath Kannur, Rajesh, Chethan, Sunil, Harish, Puneeth, Shailesh, Varun Poojary, Suresh Poojary, Kiran Poojary, Mithun Poojary, Deepak, Sampath, Jagadeesh, Ramesh Kotian, and Nithin.

The rest of the bail pleas will be heard on August 31. Although 22 people were arrested in connection with this case, two of them, including chief accused Subhash Padil, did not file applications for bail.
