Mangaluru, May 29, 2017 : Swami Vivekananda 3D Planetarium at Dr Shivaram Karanth Biological Park in Pilikula near here opens its gates to public by this year State minister for planning, statistics, science and technology M R Seetharam.
Addressing press at the DC Office May 29, Monday, he said, The planetarium is being built at a cost of Rs 35.60 and named after Swami Vivekananda to mark his 150th birth anniversary. It will have all modern innovations coupled with 3D technology to present students and enthusiasts the best learning experience on Planet.
The 3D Planetarium will be the first of its kind in India considering its technical specifications. The Planetarium in Bengaluru is concentric with central projection and circular seating.
For the maintainence a fund Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 crore to be allotted from the revenue through visitor’s fee , he said .
MLA JR Lobo, ADC Kumar, Mohiudeen Bava and others were present.
