Udupi, Jan 18, 2018: Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji, the outgoing Paryaya seer was conferred a civic reception, on January 17, Wednesday evening on the completion of his Paryaya period for a record fifth time in the 800 year old history of the Sri Krishna Mutt.
Speaking after accepting the felicitation, the Pejawar Seer said he strongly believed that religious heads must keep away from politics." I have been guiding political parties irrespective of any affiliations whenever the need arose, my guidance was only pertaining to Dharma and environment related issues, he said.
Pointing out to the recent Iftar Koota controversy, he said he has always done what is right without bothering about criticisms. "I am happy with whatever works I have done until now, but not satisfied, have still much more work to do," he said.
Both Sri Vishwesha Theertha and his junior seer Sri Vishwa Prasanna were honoured.
