Udupi, Nov 09, 2021: Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji who is in New Delhi to receive the Padma Vibhushan Award conferred posthumously on the erstwhile seer of the Mutt Sri Vishwesha Theertha, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8, Monday evening.
Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha who is also the Trustee of the Rama Janmabhoomi Theerthakshetra Trust of Ayodhya held discussions with the Prime Minister on the progress of the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.
The seer also honoured the Prime Minister by presenting him a Yakshagana headgear and the Prasadam of Lord Krishna of Udupi on a silver platter. An oil painting by Vasanthalakshmi Hebbar of Udupi, showing Prime Minister with folded hands in front of the idol of Lord Krishna at Udupi, was also offered to the Prime Minister. Mementoes with the Prime Minister’s name carved in Kannada, Tulu and Sanskrit, were also presented.
On this occasion, the Pejawar seer presented a memorandum to the Prime Minister seeking cow slaughter ban act across the country and to make all Hindu places of worship free from government control and to include Tulu in the Eighth schedule of the Constitution.
