Pedestrian killed by speeding ambulance at Tekkatte

Kundapur, Apr 01, 2017 : In tragic incident, a pedestrian died on the spot after hit by a speeding ambulance at Tekatte in Kundapur on April 01, Saturday. The driver did not care to halt the vehicle leaving the injured struggling for life.

Babu Naik, a resident of Gulwady is identified as the deceased. He was on his way to his wife’s house in Tekkatte when accident occurred.

It is said that Babu Naik was standing on the divider to cross the road, a speeding ambulance was on its way back after dropping a patient in Udupi. The ambulance had a close shave due to which to Babu Naik lost balance and fell on the road. He sustained serious injuries on the head and died on the spot. But the ambulance driver did not care to halt the ambulance instead sped away.

The eyewitness who noticed it followed the ambulance and handed the driver of the ambuance to Kota police.

Investigations are underway.
