Udupi, Sep 2, 2015:  Normal life in Udupi district is paralysed on September 2, Wednesday owing to the nationwide strike call given by trade unions in support of several of their demands. KSRTC buses as well as private buses affiliated to the Canara Bus Association and City Bus Association remain off the roads.

Almost all shops and educational institutions remain closed. Only a few private vehicles are seen moving on the roads.

Meanwhile, a procession was taken out from City Bus stand towards Kinnimulki  by members of the district unit of the Karnataka Karmika Vedike in support of the  bundh call. There has been no report of any untoward incident in any part of the district.

Generally speaking how much loss the country has to face due to such activities. Are the demands fulfilled only if the public go on a strike?
