Mangaluru, July 04 2018: A man from Koltige in Puttur has alleged that doctors at Wenlock Hospital have denied him treatment and have sent him away. But the hospital has denied the allegation and has said that the patient was levelling baseless charges after himself walking out of the hospital.
Rajkumar, a JCB operator from Puttur Koltige who is a resident of Baikampady Meenakaliya was admitted to the hospital on the night of June 28 after he complained of burning sensation in the chest and had later vomited blood. He says though he received proper treatment until June 30, later the treatment was not satisfactory. Despite doctors asking the nurses to provide him eight bottles of glucose per day, the nurses failed to give hum glucose drips as per the doctor’s advice ad when questioned had abused him and sent him out of the hospital, alleges Rajkumar.
Hospital authorities deny charges: District Surgeon Dr Rajeshwari has denied Rajkumar’s charges and alleges that the man’s mother, wife and two kids too were staying in the hospital despite telling him that the patient is allowed to have only one attendant as per rules. Kids playing around in the hospital wards would invite danger as there is a chance of them contracting some infectious disease, Dr Rajeshwari said. However, the man who failed to heed created a scene and was now hurling allegations, she further added.
