Pandemonium at meet held to discuss Jala Siri, Amrit Scheme implementation

Mangaluru, Feb 15, 2018: A  meeting held at the MCC auditorium on February 15, Wednesday to hold discussions with the public on the ADB aided Jala Siri and the Under Ground Drainage Project  under Amrit Scheme in Mangaluru,  witnessed pandemonium following several allegations and counter allegations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the course of the meeting, MLA Moidin Bava raised an issue wherein  Muneer Katipalla of DYFI had accused him of being involved in irregularities  in awarding contact for the works taken up by KUIDFC. Bava said he was unaware as to who the contractor was and added that he would request  the CM to probe the issue. He also stated that he was ready for any investigation. When Muneer Katipalla  stood up to  respond to the same, Mayor asked the two  to  remain quiet and settle any issue  outside the meeting venue.

At this juncture, Opposition leader Ganesh Hosabettu questioned  why Bava was allowed to speak then.

Deputy Mayor Rajaneesh, Chief Whip Shashidhar Hegde, KUIDFC Implementation Officer Prabhaker Sharma, Joint Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak and others were present.
