Palemar writes to CM urging extra aid for Endosulfan victims

Mangalore, February 11: District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar has written to Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa requesting additional relief funds for the Endosulfan victims of Belthangady.


krishna PalemarAccording to an official press release, Palemar has urged the state government to release extra relief funds in addition to the existing funds for the benefit of the 429 victims of Endosulfan in Patrame, Kokkada, and Nidle in Belthangady.


The government has already given Rs. 50,000 each to 232 Endosulfan victims. Besides, the government is giving monthly allowance of Rs. 1000 each to around 70 victims. Rs. 25 lakh has also been given to Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Gramabhivriddhi Samsthe for medical expenses.


But, the government of Kerala is providing a monthly allowance of Rs. 2000, rice at Rs 2 per kg, houses, agricultural land, and other facilities. Pointing out this fact, Palemar has urged the government to provide more facilities and extra allowances to the Endosulfan victims of Belthangady.
