Palemar talked tough on delay in preparing ASHRAYA list.

 

Mangalore ,  Wednesday, November 24:  In a review meeting of public work, presided over by the J. Krishna Palemar , Minister for Environment, Ecology, Ports and Inland water transport was held here at on Tuesday, November24.

 

 

Palemar made his point that there should not be any objection from the Forest Department officials for the felling of trees if it is essential for road widening purpose within the Mangalore City Corporation limits.

Palemar advised the forest department to concentrate on preventing the unauthorized felling of trees in the forest that preventing road development. He asked the forest officials to give clearance for cutting trees on the road sides and help the development works. He hoped that the public will cooperate with the authorities in the development works.

Krishna Palemar has directed the district officials to speed up the distribution of Ashraya houses to the needy. The delay in preparing the list of beneficiaries in the last two years has been affecting the lives of many homeless people. He asked the officials to speed up the matter. After a long debate Palemar suggested that the Deputy Commissioner should over see the matter solve the problem.

Ponnuraj, Deputy Commissioner and M. Shankar Bhat, Mayor. MCC were also present in the meeting. We will save as much trees as possible where the read widening takes place. Regarding water supply project Ponnuraj said that the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board is going to survey and assess the extent of land that would be submerged by the new vented dam at Thumbe when it is completed. It is will be ready in two months time.

The Minister ordered Education department to declare holidays to the schools for Bakrid festival on November 27. The schools in Belthangady and Ujire should give three days holidays on the occasion of World Tulu convention.

Krishna Palemar launched two Aryogya Kavacha ambulance vehicles on this occasion.
