Speaking at a demonstration organized by the DK District Congress Committee at Balmatta to protest against the state of the road near Balmatta Collector Gate Circle on Oct 20, Thursday, he remarked that the transfer is unfair and unjust and not in the best interests of the people in DK. He also urged the state government to revoke the transfer order at the earliest.

Urging the district-in-charge minister to stop interfering in the DC’s affairs, Mr. D’Souza said that DC V. Ponnuraj is essential for the development of the district and that the people are unwilling to lose him. He also warned the state government that the Congress will stage an intense protest in front of Palemar’s house if the transfer order is not revoked.

Speaking about the pathetic condition of the roads, he said that the roads of the district will not improve till selfish leaders are in power. Accusing the BJP government and “selfish leaders such as Palemar” of being responsible for the terrible condition of the city roads, he said that they have caused the death and injury of several innocent citizens.

Congress activists T. K. Sudhir, Ashraf Bajal, Praveen Alva, and Corporators Mamatha Shenoy and Jacintha Alfred also participated in the protest.
