Palemar distributes loans among beneficiaries

Mangalore, August 29, 2011: District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar distributed loan cheques to minorities under a government-sponsored scheme at a function held by the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation.

Speaking on the occasion, Palemar said that the state government is providing ample benefits to members of minority communities. Stating that the country will develop if poor people are developed, Palemar said that CM B. S.Yeddyurappa had introduced a number of schemes for minority welfare and that CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda is continuing the good work.

 

A number of people have received pump sets through schemes such as Ganga Kalyana, he said and added that Yeddyurappa had introduced schemes to provide Rs. 1000 for widows and unmarried women above the age of 50. The state government has also provided 3,600 autos and 28 taxis under various schemes along with loans for beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion, N. B. Abubakker, the president of DK Minorities Corporation, said that minority offices are now available in 30 districts. He also said that students are granted loans of anywhere between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 70,000 to enroll for 41 courses at a rate of 2 percent.

Palemar distributed cheques among beneficiaries of Mangalore, Moodubidri, Mangalore North, and Mangalore South. A total of Rs. 1,45,10,000 were distributed among 1,194 beneficiaries. He also gave away pump sets to 3 beneficiaries under the Ganga Kalyana Scheme.

Anwar Manipady, minorities’ president; Sudhir Shetty, standing committee president; Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash, the CEO of ZP; MLA U. T. Khader; MLA Abhayachandra Jain; ZP President Shailaja Bhat; and many others were present.
