Mangalore, March 17, 2011: Committees have been formed at the district and taluk levels to prevent malpractice and to ensure the smooth flow of the II PUC examinations, which are scheduled to be held from March 17 to March 30, 2011.

The DK district deputy commissioner is the head of the district-level committee. The members of this committee are the police commissioner, the deputy director of women and child welfare department, the chief secretary of the ZP, deputy director of fisheries department, and deputy director of PU education.

Yet another district-level committee is led by the ZP CEO. The members are the superintendent of police, deputy director of agriculture department, district social welfare department, and the deputy director of public instruction.

The taluk-level committee, which covers Moodubidri, Mangalore, and Batwal, has 5 members with the assistant commissioner of Mangalore as the head. The other committee, which covers Sullia, Puttur, and Belthangady, has five members and is headed by the assistant commissioner of Puttur.

According to the DC’s instructions, the committee heads are required to submit daily reports regarding the examination, and vigilance squads are required to effectively function throughout the examination, preventing irregularities, discrepancies, and malpractice.

This year around 6,24,265 students are appearing for the exams at 933 centres across the state. Where as the total of 1,33,483 students are the repeaters.
