Mangaluru, Jan 05, 2021: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 5, Tuesday dedicated to the nation the Kochi-Mangaluru Natural Gas Pipeline via video conferencing.
Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yediyurappa, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Governors of both the states, Union Petroleum Minister and others participated in this virtual ceremony.
In Mangaluru, a ceremony was held at the MCF with a limited number of guests including Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and others.
The 450-km-long pipeline has been built by Gail (India) Ltd. With a capacity of 12 million metric standard cubic metres per day, the pipeline will carry natural gas from the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) regasification terminal at Kochi in Kerala, to Mangaluru.
MCF is already utilising natural gas for its production purposes.
