Oppostion creating unnecessary ruckus on Arkavathi De-notification issue: UT Khader

Mangalore, July 29, 2014: Speaking to media on Tuesday July 29, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, U T Khader said  in spite of  CM assuring needed probes in  Arkavathi De-notification issue, the opposition did not listen and blocked the business of the assembly. During question hour speaker had promised to give opportunity to discuss the matter. But the opposition created unnecessary chaos in the assembly, he said.

“The Assembly session was carried out smoothly initially but at a later stage opposition parties created a melee and  did not allow sane discussion on many vital issues. They have cheated people by  doing so. They are irked by the CMs popularity,” said State  UT Khader.

A hanging bridge is to be constructed in Pavoor-Uliya area in Ullal and a sum of Rs 3 crores has been released  for this. The construction work will begin soon, he stated.

Regarding infant death cases in the state, the Minister said,  awareness will be created by the health department on the causes of infant deaths. The awareness drive will be be launched  in Kadugollanahalli in Bangalore, he informed.

On changing the name of ’Dakshina Kannada’ district, Khader said it should not be changed now, and the matter should rest there.  Congress leader T K Sudhir and many others were present at the meet.
