Only Congress party can protect interests of women: Mamatha Gatti

Mangalore, March 4, 2013: District Mahila Congress President Mamatha Gatti has said that only the Congress party was capable of implementing welfare schemes in the better interests of the women folk.

Addressing press persons in Mangalore on March 4, Monday, she said the BJP which came to power in the name of   religion, only misused power and indulged in widespread corruption. The party has also failed in fulfilling the assurances given by it, she said adding the crime against women has also seen an alarming rise during the BJP rule.

 

Also referring to the hike in prices of several essential commodities, Mamatha Gatti said  all the above factors were sure to prompt the voters to turn up against the BJP.Gatti further said it was better if BJP leaders conducted a self-introspection.

 She claimed that the Congress Party was committed to protect the interests of the women and promised that if elected to power the party would never give scope for atrocities and injustice against women.

Shobha Keshava, District Mahila Congress Treasurer, Hemavathi, Bantwal Mahila Congress Chief, Kripa Amar Alva, Lakshmi Nair, Dharmavathi, Thumbay GP Chief were also present.
