Ongoing AI pilots’ strike creates problems for passengers

Mangalore, May 30, 2012 : The Air India (AI) pilots, who launched an indefinite strike a few days back, have caused a lot of inconvenience to domestic as well as international passengers. Everyday a flight is either delayed or re-scheduled or cancelled.


air 1Absence of pilots forced the national carrier to cancel a flight that was supposed to take off at 7:00 a.m. on May 29, Tuesday. On the same day, a flight to Kuwait was also cancelled.

According to AI sources, the passengers of the Mangalore to Muscat flight will be taken on another flight on May 30, Wednesday. AI also cancelled a flight to Dubai, which was supposed to leave Mangalore on Tuesday night.

A Mangalore to Qatar flight, which was to have taken off on the morning of Wednesday, has been re-scheduled to 10:00 p.m.
