Oil Tanker bursts into flames near Belthangady, two injured

Mangaluru, June 24, 2015: Two persons were seriously injured after a tanker loaded with diesel hit an electric pole and burst into flames at Laila village near Belthangady on Wednesday.

The oil tanker was plying from Belthangady to Chikamagalur. The incident occurred when the driver of the tanker tried to avert a collision with a two wheeler due to which the driver lost control and rammed into an electric pole and overturned.


The tanker caught fire immediately and the driver and cleaner were severally injured.  The firefighters doused the flame with the foam. Soon the Bantwal and Belthangady police rushed to the spot.


A case has been registered at local police station.
