Not involved in selection of candidates ; Poojary clarifies, fumes at DCC Chief’s remarks

Mangaluru, Nov 05 2019: Senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary has slammed District Congress President Harish Kumar for the latter’s statement during  Monday’s press meet that party candidates for all the 60 wards in the Mangaluru City Corporation limits were chosen with his (Poojary’s) approval.

Speaking to media on November 5, Tuesday, Poojary fumed at  Harish Kumar and said he  was not involved in the process of selection of candidates for the upcoming elections. Poojary also questioned whether Harish Kumar thought Poojary was not alive to lie about him.

 

 

 

He demanded an apology for the wrong statement by Tuesday evening at  5 pm. Poojary also clarified that except  calling the election committee chief of the party and suggesting to select the right candidates he was not involved in the process of selection.

Poojary also alleged  that the Mogaveera community has been neglected while choosing the candidates

Poojary further vented his ire against former CM Siddaramaiah and even went on to describe him as a ’Shani’ of Congress party and said the Congress would  collapse under his leadership in the state.
Vijaykumar Shetty, Kallige Taranath Shetty and other Congress leaders were present.
