Bantwal, Mar 21, 2015: Western Range IGP Amrit Paul has  assured that the moral policing activities  will not be tolerated and those involved in such acts would be dealt with an iron hand.

IGP Amrit PaulSpeaking at a public contact programme held here on March 20, Friday after inaugurating the newly built visitors’ room at the Rural Police Station, the IGP rejected the allegation that the Department has failed to check moral policing.  If moral policing still persists it is owing to the failure of the society to live harmoniously, he observed.

On this occasion, the IGP said a traffic police station would be opened in Bantwal by April 15.Dr Sharanappa, SP who also spoke, while referring to the banner issue that resulted in tensions and clashes on many occasions, said it was the duty of the local administration to be cautious while granting permission to put up banners.

Later while speaking to media men, the IGP said that a special task force has been constituted to check illegal sand mining.

Rahul Kumar, ASPO, Belliappa, Circle Inspector and others were present.
