Nitte University donates Rs 25 lakhs towards rehabilitation of J&K flood victims

Mangalore, Oct 11, 2014: In a humanitarian gesture, the management, students, teaching and non-teaching faculty of Nitte University have pooled in a sum of Rs 25 lakhs towards the rehabilitation of the flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir. A demand draft towards Rs 25 lakhs  was  handed over to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund through Deputy Commissioner A.B.Ibrahim on October 11, Saturday by Dr S Ramananda Shetty, Vice Chancellor of Nitte University.

Dr M.S. Moodittaya, Registrar of Nitte University, Dr Satish Kumar Bhandari, Dean of K.S.Hegde Medical Academy and Nitte University students hailing from Jammu and Kashmir were present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner hailed the Nitte University Chancellor N. Vinay Hegde, the teaching and non-teaching staff and students of the University for their contribution to a good cause.
