A woman, wife of Aman from Kunjathbail was admitted to Lady Goschen Hospital on June 25. She delivered a male child through caesarean. The weight of the baby was 2.5 kg.

It is learnt that the baby was normal until 2 pm on Sunday, and at 2.30pm the doctors found that the skin of the baby had turned blue and was not breathing, the doctors tried to save the child but the efforts to save failed.

Speaking to media personals, Aman said the baby was fine and healthy, but the doctors told him to get the blood test of the baby from another hospital. Aman alleged that the baby was kept in incubator and it died as current passed through its baby’s body.

Speaking to the media, Dr Rajesh said, the baby might have died due to suffocation while feeding or due to aspiration of milk, and it is not the fault of doctors, he added.

When he was asked why the baby was sent for the blood test, the doctor said it was to check whether the baby had jaundice and it has nothing to relate with the baby’s death.

The family members and the public staged protest at the hospital demanding health minister to visit the spot and also demanded stringent action against hospital authority.

More updates awaited.
