New twist to missing family case: Family head arrested on rape charges

Kasargod, June 27, 2015: There has been an interesting twist to the case of the missing family which was traced just a couple of days ago. If the family of Uday (35) comprising his wife, two kids and sister-in-law from Badiadka which had gone missing mysteriously  about one and a half months ago, was traced at Madikeri on June 25, the family head  has now been arrested on charges of rape.

It has been gathered that he had raped his minor sister-in-law. He was arrested after he was subject to medical tests at the Kasargod General Hospital.

Police said Uday  who had a love marriage and has two kids had later fallen in love with his minor sister-in-law. It is learnt, his in-laws had warned him in this regard. On May 15, the family of Uday had gone missing following which a missing complaint was lodged. Sources said he had forcibly taken his wife and sister in-law with him.

The family had travelled to several places in Dakshina Kannada and Madikeri since the past one and a half month and had finally been to a relative’s house at Madikeri where the police eventually traced them.

All of them were produced before the court and except Uday the rest were released.
