Mangalore, April 4: Home Minister Dr. V S Acharya inaugurated the new building of Shree Bharathi College, “Mangala Bharathi,” at Nanthoor in Mangalore on April 4, Sunday, in the gracious presence of Shreemadjagadguru Shankaracharya Ragaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji. MD Jayaram Bhat of Karnataka Bank Ltd released the souvenir of the college.

President of Shree Bharathi College K Seetharam Bhat made the welcome speech. Secretary of the Management Committee Dr. M Narayana Bhat delivered the keynote address and spoke about the progress made by the college. He said that the institution was launched in 2001 with only 11 students, but today the institution has 221 students. 

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that DK is known for education, but education in DK is treated as a marketable commodity. Captain Ganesh Karnik, MLC of the Government of Karnataka, spoke about the importance of value-based education to become a resourceful person. 

Dr. V S Acharya in his presidential address lauded the institution for providing innumerable opportunities and facilities for its students. He also disclosed the fact that the government is spending Rs 10 crore for the development of the country. 

A blood donation camp was also conducted under the auspices of AJ Hospitals and Research Centre, during which 30 students donated blood. President of A J Group of Institutions A J Shetty inaugurated the blood donation camp.
